We have obtained and posted the UPS Freight contract votes by local union so every member can see how their local voted, along with all of the 129 locals.
The result is a decisive NO on Hoffa’s sell-out deal, which would have continued widespread subcontracting and offer chump-change for wage increases.
Check out this chart. The overall result is a decisive No. Most locals voted No. Even in Locals headed by Hoffa’s Executive Board, members said No.
Hoffa’s negotiator Kris Taylor stated that a rejection would lead to an immediate strike. That is now a proven lie, they will go back to the table.
But the company should be put on notice that they will face a possible strike if they don’t agree to end subcontracting, provide raises that at least match inflation and make reasonable improvements in working conditions.
The members are willing to stand up and be Teamsters. It’s time for the negotiators to back them.
